Public Strategies Sold

The firm I work for, Public Strategies, has been acquired by the London-based WPP Group, the world’s second largest advertising, public relations, government relations, and strategic communications conglomerates. With more than 31,000 employees working for 140-odd companies in 100-plus nations, the WPP Group gives our firm a better opportunity to play on an international stage.
All of Public Strategies’ management team stays in place — the WPP Group does not buy companies to manage them — and we will continue to operate independently, including all hiring/firing and promotion decisions.
Speaking of the latter, I was promoted in recognition of the work we’ve done for my client here in Texas. It’s a strong indication that Public Strategies wants me to be a part of the firm in the long run. Neither of today’s bits of news affects my job duties or locale, but both are good news for the years to come.
