A week or so ago, Google released its annual list of top search terms, which included several things I’ve never heard of. I can only assume that bebo, rebelde, and mininova — ranked 1st, 8th, and 9th, respectively — are social networking sites, although it makes one wonder why someone has to search for bebo when bebo.com ought to do the job.
By the way, I tested that theory out and typed bebo.com into the browser. It indeed took me to what appears to be a British social networking site. One of the six featured “Beboers” was one named bondage-barbie, whose profile I did not click on, and whose presence on the home page confirmed all I needed to know about the site.
