2011 in 12 Photos
As I have done in past years, this post highlights one image from each month of the year. These are not the 12 best photos of the year, just the 12 that tell the story of 2011, a very difficult year which ended in bright light.
January

The sun sets behind Reunion Tower as seen from my office, the Corporate Communications War Room in the headquarters building of AT&T.
February

Chisos romps in the nearly 4 inches of overnight snowfall in the backyard.
March

The first of two Big Bend trips in 2011 kicked off with a grand off-trail exploration of the western canyons of the Chisos Mountains. This was the sunset our first night.
April

I set a number of PRs (personal records) for CrossFit training in April and was on quite a roll in the first half of the year. This photo was taken during one of the regional qualifier workouts. I did not qualify, but our team did very well.
May

Lisa and I at the Jimmy Buffett concert in Frisco, a stop on his Welcome to Finland tour.
June

Chillin' with Chisos. The good folks at SICFIT reposted this photo on Facebook and declared I was exhibiting an "unachievable level of swag. Do not attempt." Further comments were positive, so mission accomplished.
July
My father passed away days before his 66th birthday. The memorial service was on his birthday.

The last photo of me and my father together, taken with our dogs.
August
I asked Lisa to marry me. She said yes!

Today, I asked the love of my life if she would be my wife. She said yes!
September

Chisos sleeps with her toys.
October

October brought the exciting news that TCU was joining the Big XII. Lisa and I went to a few home games as the Frogs had a terrific 11-2 season.
November

Near the end of my second trip to Big Bend, I had a wonderful encounter with this juvenile black bear, which was licking the moisture off of juniper berries following a rain storm the night before.
December
Lisa and I were married on the Winter Solstice.

I will.
