A prairie dog is torn between checking me out and keeping his eye on a possible predator a few hundred yards further away. The prairie dog town this little fellow is guarding is near a well-marked pullout along a main park road, so these prairie dogs are accustomed to seeing humans. They generally disregarded me once I sat down and didn't move. One of them actually got into my camera bag (which was behind me) and stole my bag of trail mix.

great shot! animals r my life. I have a zebra, two greyhounds, and two prairie dogs. Yes, they r little stinkers,but I love them. Once, they ripped up three of my pillows! You couldn't even see the floor!
